In 2007, dozens of organizations across Arizona held low-cost or free screenings for conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, cholesterol, and osteoporosis.  Also women participated in health fairs, seminars, lectures, and other educational events with educational information about cancer, oral health, high blood pressure, preconception health, physical activity, and more.

How Can My Organization Support Arizona’s Women’s Health Week?
Collaboration is what makes Arizona’s Women’s Health Week a success!

Here are three ways you can support this effort:
  1. Host and Post an Event: Please do all you can during this week to help women ‘Get inspired and healthy!’  If your organization is hosting an event during Women’s Health Week, let us know.  We are tracking all events that help women learn about improving their health.  In 2007, Arizona was one of the top states in the country for events held for women. Register on the National Website and post your event now!
  2. Be a vendor at the Women’s Health Expo:  State employees and women in the downtown Phoenix will be invited to the capitol during Women’s Health week for a Women’s Health Expo.  We are looking for partners to provide onsite screening and education for Expo attendees.  If you are interested in joining us for this Expo, email gflores@az.gov or call 602.542.2391
  3. Sponsor Women’s Health Week: Most activities associated with Women’s Health Week will be possible through the generosity of organizations that support women’s health.  There are several opportunities to support this effort such as sponsoring refreshments, speakers, activities or giveaways during the Expo, and printing costs for promotion of the week’s events.
If you can be supportive of Women’s Health Week in other ways not mentioned, please let us know.
